Obituary for A. G. Chavers

A.G. Chavers age 92 of Pace, Florida passed away April 8, 2023. He was born on December 22, 1930, in Andalusia, AL, the son of Henry Allen and Valley Lee Hare Chavers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He retired from American Cyanamid as a boiler operator in 1989, after 35 years of service. A.G. was an avid fisherman, he enjoyed spending time at his rental properties with his tenants. A.G. also enjoyed horseback riding and was a huge Alabama football fan (never missing a game).
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 38 years Norma Chavers, and daughter Debbie Zackowski.
A.G. was survived by his daughter Missy (Terry) Sowell; his son Jeff Chavers; grandchildren Mickey (Leslie) Hoodless, Ashlie Sowell, Tiffany (Chris) Bonner, and Brandon Chavers; great grandchildren Lily Grace Hoodless, Olivia Abbott, Matthew Bonner, Dawson, and Remi Chavers; brothers Homer (Anne) Chavers and Vernon (Brenda) Chavers; sister Dottie (Sheldon) Salters; sister-in-law Ann Chavers and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton with Pastor Phillip Dean officiating. The burial will be held at Serenity Gardens in Milton. Pallbearers: Blue, Chris Bonner, Brandon Chavers, John Kauffman, Mike Yarborough, and Terry Yarborough.

The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Pruitt Nursing Home for the extra special care they gave him.
