Ann Elizabeth Walker
“Mom—MawMaw”

Ann Stanton Walker, our Mom— our “MawMaw, was born April 21, 1940 and completed her life’s journey on Saturday on March 23, 2024.
Mom was born in Milton, Florida, Santa Rosa County. She gave her life to Christ and was baptized at an early age, joining St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church, Milton, Florida.
Ann loved her church, where she sang in Choir Number 1. After marrying her husband, Deacon Benjamin F. Walker on May 31, 1985, she served on St. John’s Mother Board until her health prevented her from attending and serving.
Mom was a great cook and baker. She was well known in the community for her carrot and red velvet cakes. We knew we had to be at the top of our game and ready to be “interrogated” if we cooked or baked something because she would use her famous line, “Whatcha put in it?”
MawMaw was preceded in death by her parents, Jessie and Christine Stanton; her children, James Stanton and Christine Annette Barnes; A half-sister, Bessie Cole. Her husband, Ben would follow her when he passed just two days after her.
