Anna Marie Baker Johnson passed away at her home in Flomaton, Alabama on March 16, 2023. She was 88 years old. Anna was a native of San Bernadino, California and moved to Flomaton, Alabama in the 1960’s. A lifelong gardener, she was known for her extraordinary knowledge of all things horticultural. Anna was a gifted storyteller who often shared vivid tales of growing up in the desert landscapes of her beloved Southern California. She loved, and consistently practiced, the dying art of letter-writing in her expressively written correspondence with family and friends. Anna was a fantastic cook. She was also an animal lover and rescued many cats over the years.

A gentle soul who lived a simple and happy life, Anna will be greatly missed by her family. She is survived by her three sons and their wives: David and Edna Johnson of Brewton, Alabama, Leslie and Angela Johnson of Brewton, Alabama, and Steven and Jeanette Johnson of Flomaton, Alabama, six grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Anna was preceded in death by her parents Ray and Mary Baker, her husband Carl Johnson, and her sister Sylvia Rosenburgh.
