Betty Snell Farinas, 98, passed away Sunday, February 26, 2023. Betty was born on April 27, 1924 in Vineland, New Jersey to Sidney O. Snell and Louise Jameson Snell. She graduated from Pensacola High School in 1942. In her early years she worked at Beggs Lane Attorneys from 1944-1949 then she worked at Mutual Federal Savings from 1957- 1972. Betty enjoyed traveling with her husband, Bill and with many friends. She loved to crochet especially prayer shawls for St. Christopher’s Episcopal Church. She was a member of special “bunco” group for over 70 years that she helped to start in 1947. Along with watching baseball with her favorite team Atlanta, Braves, and even watched the Florida Gators football team. She always had the great cookouts with many of her friends and family. She even did crafts, painting, ceramics, and reading. Betty was dedicated as a charter member of St. Christopher Episcopal Church as an Alter Guild, ECW, and Sunday School Teacher.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Farinas, Sr.; and brother, Rev. Canon Bob Snell.
Betty is survived by her sons, Bill Farinas, Jr. (Karen) and Bob Farinas; granddaughters, Kim, Kerri, Katie (Allen), and Kristen (Andrew); great grandchildren, Bryce, Chloe, Patrick, Shelby, Sidney, Kennedy, Campbell, Oliver, and Addison; along with many cousins, friends and family.
