Bobby Lon Parker, 84, of Pensacola, passed away on March 13, 2023. He was born on March 12, 1939 in Tildon, MS.
Bobby proudly served in the U.S. Navy for a short time, but he was a machinist for most of his life. He started out at Runt’s Machine Shop, then worked at Pensacola Automotive, Brown Marine, and Fade Auto which became CarQuest. He also opened his own machine shop, Parco Machining where he worked on engines and restoring antique automobiles. He loved working on race car engines and could be found most weekends at Five Flags Speedway or Mobile International Speedway watching the race cars he worked on “go fast, turn left”.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary (Charles) Houdashelt and Melvin (Millie) Parker.
Survivors include his wife, Bette Parker; daughter, June Gunning; son, Jody (Candi) Parker; grandchildren: Andria Miller, Travis (Julia) Bedsole, and Miranda (Kent) Parker; great-grandchildren, Felicity Miller and Eri Fae Parker; sister, Peggy Alumbaugh; and many other family members and friends.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a service immediately following on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Pensacola Chapel.
