Obituary for Carolyn Jean Krieg

Carolyn (Babe) Kerchoff-Krieg of Pensacola, Florida passed away at the age of 87 peacefully on March 11, 2023, surrounded by her Husband, Son & Daughter-In-Law. Carolyn was born June 7, 1935 in Manchester, Missouri, and was the daughter of Lewis and Evelyn Strothkamp. Carylon worked in the medical billing field and later opened a painting business and worked with her husband Ronald Kerchoff for over 30 years. Carolyn’s pride and joy was their only child Lou Kerchoff. Carolyn and Ron’s home became the place for neighborhood kids to gather. After the passing of Ron, Carolyn married Glen Kreig, of Lafayette, Louisiana. During her retirement years, Carolyn enjoyed spending time with family, playing golf, and gardening. Carolyn also loved being doted on by her husband Glen Krieg for the last 17 years. Carolyn and Glen moved to Pensacola 9 month ago to be close to her son and family due to her failing health. Carolyn quickly made many friends in Pensacola, just as she has done all of her life.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ron Kerchoff, and her brother, Lewis Strothkamp. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Glen Krieg, and her son, Louis (Tonya) Kerchoff, Stepdaughters, Tracy Grunch (Ft. Worth, Tx), Terry (Omar) Krieg (Pensacola, FL), Jeff (Mary) Krieg (Dallas, TX). Her grandchildren, Robbie (Megan) Kerchoff (Ft. Worth, TX), Lauren Kerchoff (Ft. Worth, TX), Jimmy Craig Thompson (Pensacola, FL), Heather (Darren) Skitt (Pensacola, FL), Hunter Grunch (Lafayette, LA), Jessica Grunch (Ft. Worth, TX), Cody Thomas (Lafayette), Robert Krieg (Lafayette, LA), Ginny Krieg (OK), Ann Krieg, Tim Krieg (Dallas, TX). Great Grandchildren, Rylee & Noah Kerchoff (Ft. Worth, TX), Kendall Skitt (Pensacola, FL), DJ (Terryn) Skitt, (Knoxville, TN). A host of great grand kids, nieces and nephews, cousins, and so many friends. She also leaves behind her furry companion Lady who she enjoyed so much during these last few years of her life.
A Memorial Service will be held at Calvary Baptist Church, 6824 Pine Forest Road, Pensacola, FL. On Friday March 17, 2023 at 11 AM. The service will be live streamed. Her remains will be taken to Marchester, Missouri at a later date to be laid to rest with her late husband Ronal Kerchoff. The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to Calvary Baptist Church Youth Fund in her memory, Carolyn always loved kids and wanted to help them.
The family would live to give special thanks to all the nurses of Emerald Coast Hospice, especially Melissa Ellis who provided such attentive care for Babe during her last days.
