Obituary for Charles Buzbee

Charles Monroe Buzbee, age 66, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was born on July 24, 1957, to Bernard T. and Velma (Milsted) Buzbee.

He graduated from Pensacola Christian Academy in 1975. Charles married Tami Chavis, the love of his life, they shared 46 years together, and raised five children. Charles worked as a Corrections Officer at Escambia County Jail. He later became a Sherriff’s Deputy and promoted to Fraud, and Forgery Investigator. In 2017, he retired after 27 years of service.

He enjoyed gardening and rebuilding his 1969 Cobra jet Mustang with his good friend, Barry at JoDaddy’s garage. His wife always said, “he was the smartest man she ever knew.” Charles also enjoyed playing cards with his in-laws and lunch with Dad on Mondays.

Charles was a good man, husband, father, and papa always loyal and devoted; he took care of his family. He would say what you needed to hear- No sugar coating.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Bernard; and first grandson, Buddy Buzbee.

He is survived by his wife, Tami Buzbee; children and grandchildren, Summer (Kewhan, A.J., Addison and Eriendi), Chuck (Emilyn), Dan (Kaylee, Alexis, Samantha, Kierstin, and Dan, Jr.), Carla (Maria); his first great grandchild, Rosearia; sister-in-law, Anita Buzbee.

Charles accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior many years ago. We know that today he is spending time with his grandson, Buddy Buzbee, and they are waiting for us in Heaven.
