Obituary for Christine Taylor Wellborn

Christine Taylor Wellborn
November 22, 1949 – April 17, 2021

Christine Taylor Wellborn, 71 years of age, of Pensacola, FL, passed peacefully with family at bedside on Saturday, April 17, 2021 from Cardiopulmonary arrest. She was born in Bay Shore, NY to her parents, Helen Moore and Milton Harry Taylor. She was the youngest of two daughters.

She excelled in sports and was voted best female athlete in her Babylon high-school class of 1967. Upon graduating high school, she enlisted in the US Navy and was always a proud veteran. She earned a bachelor’s degree and continued on to achieve a master’s degree in Counseling from Auburn University. Christine began her career with Escambia County Job Services. She continued in this field and spent most of her career as a job coach, assisting the disadvantaged and disabled gaining employment. She went on and opened her own Rehabilitation Consulting Business where she eventually retired.

She was a member of the Pensacola Jaycees, coached athletics, and was a founding member of the idea, fundraising, and construction of the Wall South. She was an active member in her church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen Seiger and Milton Taylor.

She is survived by her two sons, Nelson Wellborn Jr. (Tina) Timothy Wellborn (Elaine); grandchildren, Kaleigh Coates (Ashton Coates) Patrick Wellborn, Zachary Wellborn, Tyler Wellborn; great grandson, Theodore Coates; sister, Patricia Taylor Pechman (Chris Pechman; and many cousins, family, and friends.

Services will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home at 60 Industrial Blvd., Pensacola, FL. 32503, on Tuesday, May 04, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. A precession to Pensacola N.A.S, Barrancas Cemetery will be leaving at 11:00 a.m. sharp to be followed with a short service.
