With a heavy heart, we announce that David D. Gibbs (62) has sadly passed away. He joins his Mother, Father, and Brother. David was born on July 4, 1960, and passed on April 11, 2023, at home with Precious whom he shared a wonderful 7 ½ years. Precious and Rufus were his world. He was pronounced shortly after midnight on April 12th.

A country boy, born and raised, southern roots laid David’s love as an avid race fan. He never shied away from a good shooting range or discussion on fast cars, motorcycles, or guns. David graduated in the class of ’78 from Pensacola High School, served 8 years in the Navy, and then graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in IT from the University of West Florida in ’05. He was a Technical Support Representative with Cox Communications until the office closure in 2013, after which he did Computer tech on the side.

David is survived by his love, Precious, Rufus; his companioned service dog, his sister Debra, and his 5 children, and several grandchildren. A funeral service performed by his Uncle Herbert Thomas, will be held in his honor at Trahan Family Funeral Home located at 60 Industrial Blvd, Pensacola, FL 32503 on Friday, April 21, 2023. Visitation will be
2:00-2:30 pm with service to follow.
