Obituary for Donald W Manfred

DONALD W. MANFRED
1930- 2023

Donald W. Manfred, 92, of Pensacola, went to be reunited with his wife in Heaven, on January 16th, 2023. Don was born in December 1930 and raised in Middletown, Pennsylvania.

He was preceded in death by parents, Furie and Catherine; his wife of 50 years, Mazie and his son, Dale.

He is survived by his son, Don (Lea); sisters, Carolyn and Ruth; brother, Robert and grandson Tyler; many, many relatives. Don had 12 siblings and his wife had 16 siblings.

Don joined the USAF at age 18 and served in Japan, Okinawa and during Korea and Vietnam. He met his wife in Newfoundland and she traveled with him on assignments in the U.S. and North Africa. He retired in 1969 and moved to Pensacola. He spent 10 years in Scouting as a leader and as a little league coach. Don worked for Gulf Power, Scotty’s and for his brother-in-law at Lovern Construction. He was an avid bowler and won a gold medal at age 82 in the mixed doubles at the Florida Senior games. He also like to play cards at the senior center.

Don will be sadly missed, but never forgotten. He always was a joy to be around and had a smile for everyone he met.

Arrangements will be handled by Trahan Family Funeral Home. Interment of remains will be at Barrancas National Cemetery.
