Obituary for Eddie Lee Andrews III

Deacon Eddie Lee Andrews, III

On December 11, 1964, in Milton, Florida (Santa Rosa County), a baby boy was born. His parents, Reverend Eddie Andrews, Jr. and Georgia Hudson Andrews named him “Eddie Lee Andrews, III”. He is affectionately known by many as Bouncy.

“Eddie” was a graduate of Milton High School, Class of 1983. He then attended Pensacola Junior College, now known as Pensacola State College, where he studied Computer Science. He later joined the United States Army.
On March 10, 1995, Eddie and his love, Erica L. Andrews were married.

Eddie received Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Pilgrim African Missionary Baptist Church, Milton, Florida. There, he became a Deacon. He later joined St. John Divine Missionary Baptist Church, East Milton, Florida where he served dutifully and faithfully as a Deacon. He spent many years as Chairman of the Deacon Board.
Three days after celebrating his 59th birthday, Eddie’s earthly journey ended during the early hours of December 14, 2023── he rejoined his parents, Rev. Eddie L. Andrews, Jr. and Mrs. Georgia Hudson Andrews; his sisters, Pearline Andrews, Sophia Baker, and Debra Payne; brothers John Alfred Andrews and Anthony “PC” Andrews; and father-in-law Bolden Davis, Jr.

Eddie was employed with Amentum NAS Whiting Field, Milton, Florida. Although the company names changed, he worked there for 20-plus years in Supply/Procurement. He was loved by his co-workers; He called them “friends” because he loved them also.

Eddie and Erica. They were blessed with a son, Darius Andrews, the apple of his eye. He remained close to his “Andrews family” and loved them all dearly! He was always ready and willing to be at their sides when they needed him, and they were always there for him. His nephew David Andrews was a constant companion who was also like a son to him and sometimes even a brother.

Because he often stepped into the role of “Daddy” for his nieces, Shaylin Parker, Pehton Parker and Kaiden Tookes, they affectionately called him “Uncle Daddy.”

“Eddie” touched many people— He is dearly missed by his loving and devoted wife Erica, and son Darius; His mother-in-law, Mary Davis of Milton, FL who loved him like he was her own son; Uncle Herman James of Milton, FL; brothers, Andrae Andrews of Atlanta, Georgia, and Chauncey Harris of Norfolk, Virginia; sisters-in-law, Keyna Parker and Lori Davis, both of Milton, FL; sister-in-law, Maryann Andrews, of Pensacola, FL; brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Baker, Sr. of Milton, FL and William Payne of Brooklyn, NY; Aunt Mary Andrews of Pensacola, FL; and nieces, Sanya, Rebecca, Patrice, Cleola, Martika, and Destiny; nephews, Michael, Nathaniel Jr and Brian; also many cousins and friends— all of whom he loved dearly.

Along with his spiritual leadership and smiles, Deacon Andrews, is already missed by his St. John Divine family.

On Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel there will be a visitation at 10:00 AM with the service to start at 11:00 AM. Eddie will be laid to rest at Milton Keyser Cemetery following the funeral service.
