Obituary for Esther Marie Raymond
Esther Raymond, 80, of Pensacola, FL, went home to be with the Lord on March 17, 2022. Born May 10, 1942 in Beaver Meadow, NY to Carlos and Mildred Atkyns, she was the youngest of three daughters.
During her life, she worked several different jobs, ending her career as an administrative assistant at SUNY Cortland. She loved people and animals, taking a special interest in horses, beagles, birdwatching, and pigs. Her love of people showed in her writing to pen pals who became lifelong friends. She enjoyed learning to do crafts, traveling, music, dancing, and good conversation. She had a special heart for teenagers and college students.
Esther is survived by her daughter, Ann; her son, Matthew (Carilyn); three grandchildren, Trenton (Olga), Elisa (Josh), and Nickolas (Elizabeth); three great grandchildren, as well as a cousin and many nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Esther’s life for family and friends will be at the Crowne Centre of Pensacola Christian College in the Allen Chapel (250 Brent Lane Pensacola, FL 32503) at 6:30 p.m. March 25, 2022.
