Farrell Marie “Suzy” Wehner Goodrich
May 13, 1941 – April 9, 2021

Farrell Marie “Suzy” Wehner Goodrich, 79 was called home to her Lord on April 9th, 2021 from a peaceful sleep at the Covenant Hospice section of West Florida Hospital. She was born on May 13, 1941 in Pensacola, FL to her parents, Clyde and Nellie Wehner.

Born and raised in Pensacola, Suzy was her hometown’s first Junior Miss, head Majorette of the Pensacola High School Band in 1958-1959, as well as Class Beauty at PHS 1959. While being a devoted wife and mother and working at NAS Pensacola in Civil Service, she earned an Associate’s Degree at Pensacola Junior College and a Bachelor’s Degree at the University of West Florida. During her 35 years of service, she accomplished being the Director of NADEP Apprentice School for 4 years and retired as the Director of Civilian Training. At retirement in 1995, she received the Meritorious Civilian Service award from the Secretary of the Navy. During part of that time, she also was the Pre-School Director at Resurrection Lutheran Church. After retirement, she enjoyed being “Nan” to her three grandchildren.

In June 1959, Suzy and her high school sweetheart, Kenneth W. Goodrich were married and had many adventures during his service in the Air Force before settling back in Pensacola. For 62 years, they were together hand in hand until her passing.

She was preceded in death by their son, Gregory Alan Goodrich (1967). She is lovingly survived by her children, Cindy Susan (Don) Shepherd and Dana Marie (Nick) Lupton; grandchildren, Peter Nicholas Lupton, Joseph Christian Lupton, and Katherine Marie (James) Davis, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Suzy’s family will have a private service at a later date and interment will be at Barrancas National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please donate to either the Shriner’s Children Hospital or Manna Food Bank.

Dear Ken and family, so very sorry for the loss of your dear Susy. She will be greatly missed by all of us at the Veranda. Ken, I pray the Lord will comfort you as you go on without her. She was a beautiful and sweet lady.
