Obituary for Franklin Roosevelt "Frank" Tilley

Franklin “Frank” R. Tilley
1942 – 2022

Franklin “Frank” R. Tilley, 79 years old, of Milton, FL passed away on May 7, 2022. He was born in Oklahoma City, to his parents, Edward and Lena Tilley, on July 13, 1942.

Frank was a hardworking, simple unassuming man who loved the Navy. He was very proud of his time in the service being an airplane mechanic. Frank had been stationed at Corpus Christi, Cuba, Pensacola, Guam, and retired in Beeville, Tx. He took classes at Beeville Community College. He moved to Milton area to work at Pensacola Naval Air Station.

He loved to tinker around especially on his riding lawn mowers and taking his trailer to get sod for his yard which wouldn’t grow. Frank puttered around the “Big City” of Milton, going to Whiting Field, local hardware shops, especially Halls, and enjoying his Whataburger and KFC at home. He enjoyed paying his insurance bill as he could see his buddy Teresa in Pace. He would ride his tractor across the street to his neighbors, Betsy and Ken and take them his aluminum coke cans. Frank loved old Country & Western music and putting his records onto CDs.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Suzanne Tilley, Lubbock TX, who retired as a LTC from the Army Reserves after 30 years and spent 28 years working with the Head Start program. He is also survived by his son, Shaun Tilley in Brownsville TX, who retired as a MSG from the Army and became a nurse working in the Neonatology Dept. Frank was very proud of the accomplishments of both of his children.

He will be missed by all who knew him. As Mister Rogers would say, “Won’t you be my neighbor?” Please be a neighbor to those around you!

Trahan Family Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
