Gary Coleman, 69, of Century, FL passed away on January 16, 2023. He was born on January 21, 1953 in Charleston, MS to his parents, L.C. and Frances Coleman, of Payne, MS.
Gary’s last job was a groundskeeper for a cemetery. He had many jobs throughout his life. He worked very hard. Gary was a friend to everyone. He enjoyed fishing, model cars and spending time with loved ones. He spent most of his time in the garden, on the lawnmower, or just anything outside. When he wasn’t outside, he would be watching his shows and talking on the phone to many people that got a call daily from him. He is forever loved and will be missed by all that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, L.C. and Frances Coleman; sisters, Dorothy Dungan, Mary Costilou and Janice Coleman; brothers, Donald Coleman and Larry Coleman.
Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Jan F. Coleman; brothers, Dave (Pauline) Coleman of Millington, TN and L.C. (Glenda) Coleman Jr of Holcomb, MS; daughters, Sylvia Hoy of Ocala, FL, Julie (Billy) Raymond of Rock Island, IL and Nancy Hudson of Cantonment, FL; sons, David Coleman of Century, FL and Jeremy (Rachael) Coleman of Cantonment, FL; 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to give a special acknowledgement to Gary and Polly Johnson, best friend and neighbor; Brian Coleman who was like a brother to Gary; Nick Fowler, who was like a son to Gary; Oscar Porter and Larry Ford, Gary’s lifelong friends.
Pallbears will be Dalton Hudson, Alex McMinn, D.J. Hoy, Michael Boyd, Nick Fowler, Jeremiah White and Nick Hoy.
A Funeral Service for Gary will be held on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Trahan Family Funeral Home. The visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. with the service to follow at 1:30 p.m. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Spruell Memorial Cemetery.
