Obituary for Glen Christian Jackson

Glen Christian Jackson “Action Jackson” 77, of Pensacola, FL, passed away on December 20, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born on August 2, 1945, in Rochester, New York, to his parents Gerald A. and Eloise E. Jackson.
Glen completed his high school education and received a basketball scholarship to attend college. He also went on to join the United States Navy as a 3rd Class Communication Yeoman. He loved restoring antiques and had his own workshop “Wood N Peg,” was a salesman at Ordon’s Menswear for many years, and worked for Jerry Falwell, the U.S. Postal Service, and many other entrepreneurial ventures. Glen was adventurous and had many talents, but basketball was his passion. He lettered in varsity all four years in high school and could spend hours watching his grandsons play. He was also an avid poker player and spent many hours playing at the Moose Lodge #557 and Pensacola Greyhound track with friends.
Glen is preceded in death by his father, Gerald Jackson; mother, Eloise Jackson; brothers, David Jackson (Roberta) and Bruce Jackson (Mary); deceased wife, Gail “Tweetie” Jackson; best friend Big Mike; in-laws, T.L. and Nellie Hancock; nephew, Kevin Allen.
Glen is survived by his loving wife Jenny Jackson (her children Nicholas VanHoosen and Tracy Boaca; sister, Jill Adderly; daughters, Michelle (Steve) Bienkowski and Kerrie (Greg) Allen sister-in-law, Carolyn “Tootsie’ Allen (Thomas); grandchildren, Evan (Rayne), Kendall, Emma, Abby, and Mason; great grandchildren, Faith, Tessa, Nicholas, Jr., and Jayden. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and loved ones who will miss him dearly.
The family would like to acknowledge Carol McGee, Covenant Hospice, and Dr. Jafri for being there in their time of need. In lieu of flowers the family would like everyone to donate blood to your local blood bank in Glen Jackson’s name.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, January 10th, 2023, at Trahan Family Funeral Home, 60 Industrial Blvd. Visitation begins at 9 a.m. with service to follow at 10 a.m. Graveside will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:30.
