Pawpaw, what can I say about you that everyone already knows? You are an amazing man that taught me and showed me that anything can be fixed. You taught me how to tie a shirt tie, you taught me how a sailboat works, you showed me how a motor works. You and dad always had a way of fixing things to make them work for us as kids. I can always remember all of us riding the mini lizzie and motorcycles around your house and Aunt Sonia and Uncle Preston's house. I will never forget how you could keep your grass so green and how you showed me that a wood burning fire place was the best kind of heat. I will never forget our conversations we had about life either. We could talk for hours about life, motors, and building things. Me and you always had an agreement that no matter how old I got, I always hug my Pawpaw. I wish I could have one last hug from you now. I'm so sorry that I let life get in the way and I did not come see you more. I felt like the black sheep and had these feelings that I was not good enough, that I failed you as a grandson. I hope you are seeing MeeMaw and Lori again. I hope you are meeting your great-granddaughter, Eleanor. I hope that you can see Pop Pierce and Granny again. I hope you can see your brothers Howard, Lee, and Rufus again. I hope you see your sisters again Betty, Mavis, and Annette. PawPaw, thank you for everything you have given me. Thank you for all the memories. I am still so very proud to be your grandson. To be one of the third generations. My hope is that I live as long as you did with as much stamina as you had. I hope that I find you and MeeMaw again. I love you forever, Pawpaw!
