Obituary for Israel James

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalm 23:4 KJV

We come today to celebrate the life of Israel James.

Israel James went home to be with the Lord on November 26, 2022. His devotion to his family; his work; his love, Celeste Nelson; and mostly to God, his Savior; supported his physical struggles and ultimately gave him peace.

Israel was born to Eva James and the late Rex Allen James on December 3, 1978. He was a hard worker. He was a 25-year, skilled roofer by trade and also knew carpentry, framing, and masonary. Israel could do magic with a pencil or pen on paper drawing, and he also wrote some poetry. He loved the adrenaline life and could be found doing anything from zip lining in the mountains, parasailing over the water, or riding his motorcycle on the open road.

Israel was a huge Florida Gator fan and spent much of his time working out and staying fit. He believed in the Lord Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and read his Bible on a daily basis. He was set in his salvation.

He was preceded in death by his father, the late Rex Allen James.

Survivors include: his loving mother, Eva James; his fiancé, Celeste Nelson; his brothers, Shawn James and Tommy Smith; his sons, David Long, Jacob James, and Justice James; his daughter, Skyla Allen; and several loving and caring aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Visitation will be held from 2:30 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 14, 2022 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.

Israel will be missed because God finally took his warrior home.
