Obituary for Jannett Spicer

Jannett Spicer, 84, of Pace, passed away on January 4, 2023. She was born on August 31, 1938 in Chumuckla, Florida to Melvin G., Sr. and Willie Vera Spicer.

Jannett graduated from Milton High School with honors and later went to Pensacola Junior College. While attending college, she worked at the Ben Franklin store in downtown Milton. After graduating college, she started work at Monsanto in 1957 and worked there for 36 years. She worked her way up to purchasing and after she retired, she was brought back to work with Greentree Contracting. She was also a notary, which she used to help people in the community.

As a family oriented and people person, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She liked going to beach, going out to eat (especially pizza) and taking walks around the neighborhood. She loved hanging out with her family, especially her nieces and nephews. She was a very happy and upbeat person who wouldn’t hesitate to help someone in need. She loved listening to music and was always a joy to be around.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Cleo; brother, Melvin; brothers-in-law, Robert and Jerry; and nephew, Anthony.

Survivors include: sisters, Joy and Rita; brother-in-law, Ledford “Stew” who loved her like a sister; five nieces and nephews: Christina, Cody, Casey, Connie, and Katy; ten great-nieces and nephews, Erica, Kaitlynn, Dylan, Liam, Emma, Sophia, Clinton, Alisha Rae, Henry, and Ruby; great-great-niece, Presley; special friends, Wayne and Louh Kerter Yasa and their children, Avian, Shawn, and Kyle; and many other family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. until the funeral service begins at 2 p.m. all on Friday, January 13, 2023 at Trahan Family Funeral Home, Milton Chapel.
