Jerald Donnell Morgan (Jerry) was born on February 7, 1944 in Gonzalez, Florida; and passed this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2021.
Jerry was a life-long resident of Pensacola, Florida. He attended Beams of Light Church when he was able throughout his life.
Jerry had a green thumb and loved to grow things. Wherever he lived, he usually managed to have something growing. He rooted fig trees, citrus trees and pear trees; and planted turnips, collards and all manner of vegetables; and would give them to his friends and neighbors and anyone else he thought might like some. Jerry was truly kind and tinder hearted man, and readily shared what he had with those around him. He loved people and was always ready to help those around him in any way he could.
Jerry was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edna Mae and Marcus Morgan; stepfather, Claude Dixon and brother, Claude Dixon, Jr.
He is survived by his brother Darrell Morgan and wife Laura and their two sons: Bobby and Terry; his sister Debbie Kilgore and husband Wayne and their three daughters: Rebecca, Tina and Jeannie; his son, Marcus Leggett; his daughter, Ava Leggett; and one uncle: Felton Ard.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until funeral service begins at 2:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at Trahan Family Funeral Home with burial to follow at Gonzales UMC Cemetery.
