Julieta was born in Santa Cruz, Laguna Philippines. At an early age she was taught how to cook and help care for her younger siblings. This began her passion to help others. Studying to become a nurse while in Japan, she met and fell in love with David C. Hawks who became a Chief / Chef in the Navy for 22 years. They soon married while in Japan and started a family together with their first son Dewey, born in the Philippines. Not long after, they moved to the states she became a working mom, using her passion and nursing degree to help others while working in a nursing home. When her daughter, Jennifer was born in Jacksonville Florida, Julieta took a needed break but later returned to her passion in the nursing home. A few years later, the family moved to Honolulu, Hawaii where Daniel was born. When in Iceland she embraced a passion for baking and decorating stunning cakes, with skills taught to her by her talented husband David. Julieta was such an exceptional cake crafter that her name was shared around the military base for many cake orders. Iceland is also where David C. Hawks and Julieta C. Hawks renewed their wedding vows for their 17th wedding anniversary. Then leaving Iceland and being stationed in Pensacola, Florida with her family, she retired and delighted in being a stay-at-home mother always available and supportive and full of love for her family.

Julieta was a loving and caring Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, and unique foods. Going to various new restaurants and trying new foods was a delight. Watching food channels on TV made her wonder how the food she was looking at would taste and wanted to try it all. Julieta was a fabulous host and excellent cook, she brought her family together for many great times, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas, her two favorite holidays. But any get together at her house was a wonderful time.

Julieta was extremely ill during the last few weeks and was taken special care of by her loving children. They would assist her in anything she needed and sat bedside with her till the day had come. She will be greatly missed. We would like to give a special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, Hospice, all special family, friends, and everyone who helped care for her needs.
