Obituary for Lesley Meredith Hubbard

Lesley Fowler Hubbard
1949 - 2021

Lesley Fowler Hubbard was born on November 5, 1949, in Paterson, New Jersey and grew up in Oakland, New Jersey. She had a lifelong love for music and along with being a vocalist she also played several instruments including piano, guitar, ukulele, and drums. Lesley met her husband Jim in 1977 in Estes Park, Colorado and together they formed the Royal Garden Band.

They eventually moved to Pensacola, Florida where she went to Pensacola Junior College for nursing school. Lesley worked for many years as a licensed practical nurse. Upon retirement she volunteered at the Alpha Center. She had a caring heart and loved to help people as well as animals.

Lesley was preceded in death by her parents Alan and Muriel Fowler, her husband James Alden Hubbard, Sr., and her brother Anthony (Sue) Fowler.

She leaves behind her children, Clifford Aleksandrow, Andrew Hubbard, James (Ginger Rogers) Hubbard, Jr., Katy (Michael Blount) Hubbard; her sister, Jacqueline (Bruce) Knoblock; her brother, Keith (Tammy) Fowler; and her four grandchildren, Lily Aleksandrow, Samuel Aleksandrow, Maren Hubbard, and Everett Hubbard.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Alpha Center or the Pensacola Humane Society.

Services will be held at Sacred Heart Cathedral on Thursday, January 28, 2021. Mass will begin at 12:00 p.m., following a procession to Barrancas National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest.
