Obituary for Lisa Culpepper Turner

Dr. Lïsa Maria Culpepper Turner, of Bagdad, FL, entered her heavenly home January 21, 2023. Lïsa was born on January 22, 1955 in Pensacola, FL, to Winston and Katie Golden Culpepper. She graduated from Santa Rosa Christian School, Florida State University, and later received her Doctor of Education from the University of West Florida. Lïsa married David Jerry Turner on April 22, 1983. They were married for almost 40 years.

Lïsa dedicated her life to inspiring generations of students whether it be instructing 4th grade students or adults at the Santa Rosa Adult School. She was always looking for an opportunity to edify the Lord Jesus Christ and instill Christian principles in her students. Lïsa was an officer and musician at the Church of the Living God, later renamed Heritage Chapel.

Lïsa was preceded in death by her parents, Winston and Katie Culpepper; brother-in-law, Dana Stone; and her niece, Hannah Stone.

She is survived by her husband, David Turner; daughter, Amanda Turner Ramsay; three sisters, Linda Stone, Leta (Giovonni) Demarcus and Linzy (Bert) Blalock and their families; three grandchildren, Travis (Lezlee) Ramsay, Hannah (Jonathan) Gillespie, and Hunter Ramsay; great grandchildren: Paisley, Phynleigh, Phybee, and Paityn Ramsay, and a child on the way, and Mexley Lïsa Rose Gillespie.

One of her favorite passages was Psalm 23.

These funds will help many adult students be given a second chance and will encourage them to become a positive impact in the local community.

Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at Heritage Chapel, 3375 Garcon Point Road, will be a visitation at 1:30 PM with service to follow at 2:00 PM. Lisa will be laid to rest at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.
