Obituary for Margaret Cary Skiles
Margaret Cary Skiles, age 77, of Pensacola, FL, went home to the Lord on March 10th, 2022. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family.
Margaret was born on May 9th, 1944 in Brooklyn, Alabama to the late William T. and Hazel Cary. She was the second of four children. Margaret was known for her bright smile, sassy wit and effortless charm. As a child she loved being part of the Brooklyn Community and often shared her memories with her family.
Margaret and her family moved to Pensacola, FL in 1953. As a young adult, she quickly became part of the community, volunteering at a local hospital and attending church. She was a 1962 graduate of Tate High School. She had a ten-year career with Chemstrand/Monsanto. And was also retired from a 20-year career with Cox Communications.
Her son, Tim was the love of her life. A devoted mother, she shared her love of the Lord with Tim and taught him to trust in the Lord's plan.
Margaret is survived by her son, Robert "Tim" Sanders, Jr; her brother and sister-in-law, William & Judy Cary; nieces, Theresa Garcia, Rhonda Wingard, Renee Wallis and Jennifer Garrison; and nephews, Billy Wingard Jr., and Brad Cary; and many nieces, great-nieces and great-great nieces and nephews.
Margaret will be deeply missed, but her memory will live on in our hearts. Margaret will be laid to rest on Saturday, March 26th at Brooklyn Baptist Church Cemetery in Alabama. Family and friends will be received from 10:30-11:30 and the funeral service will begin at 11:30 with a graveside burial directly after services. Family and friends are invited to join the immediate family for dinner on the grounds after the service. Flowers may be sent directly to Trahan Family Funeral Home on 60 Industrial Blvd in Pensacola, FL by Friday, March 25th (flowers will be transported to the service location).
