Obituary for Marguerite John

Marguerite Fiore John, 98, of Pensacola, Florida, passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2023. Marguerite was born in Altoona, PA to Fortunato and Polina Bonarigo Fiore on October 9, 1924.

She grew up during the Depression, which taught her the value of hard work. During World War II she worked at Sylvania, making electronic parts for the war effort. Marguerite was considered a great beauty and frequently modeled for department stores in her hometown. She met her future husband, Kenneth R. John, Jr., on his return from active duty and they married in 1947. Marguerite never liked the cold so in 1953 she and Ken moved to Florida. She resided in Jacksonville, FL for over 50 years before moving to Pensacola in 2012. Marguerite worked in retail sales for most of her adult life.

Marguerite is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ken; and her four siblings.

Marguerite is survived by her son, K. Robert John (Sylvia) of Norman, OK; her daughter, Nora Bailey (Tom) of Pensacola; her granddaughter, Laura Miller (D) of Austin, TX; her grandson, Evan John of Austin, TX; as well as her two great-grandchildren, Abbott Miller and Avery Miller of Austin, TX.

The family wishes to thank her dedicated caregivers at Summer Vista Assisted Living Center, Memory Care, and at Emerald Coast Hospice.

A private service for family will be held on Monday, January 30, 2023.
