Obituary for Mary Christine Fitzpatrick

Mary Christine Fitzpatrick (nee Spiller, Bush), 74, of Pensacola, Florida began dancing in heaven on Saturday, April 2, 2022. She passed peacefully at home, with family by her side, after a long battle with dementia, and a brief battle with lung cancer and pneumonia.

Mary, or Granny as she was known to all, especially to those who loved her, was raised in Kittery Maine graduating from Robert W. Traip Academy however, she resided in Pensacola for the last 40 years and called Pensacola home. Mary was outgoing, never meeting a stranger, which served her passion and profession as a hairdresser well. Mary loved to dance, sing, swim, play bingo, and spend time with her family and friends. True to her northern roots, Mary loved seafood, especially Maine lobster and New England clam chowder. In her later years, Mary enjoyed watching NCIS “Gibbs” and loved the color blue …always to be seen with her pretty blue nails.

Mary was greeted in heaven by her parents, William and Gertrude Spiller; brother, Dick “Kickie” Spiller; and sister, Joyce Shettlesworth.

Mary leaves to cherish her memory, two daughters, Monica (Joey) Livingston and Patty (Mikie) Steeger; three granddaughters, Kaely (Heather) Prisock, Savannah McCall and Rachael Livingston; one grandson, Gavin Livingston; one great grandson, Cooper Tynes; two brothers, John Spiller and Jim (Sue) Spiller; one sister, Phyllis (Remi) Gaoiran; many nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

The family wishes to express many thanks and heartfelt gratitude to Beverly and Bridgette at Fantastic Sam’s Mobile Hwy, D&N Nails, Baptist Hospital ER and PCU, as well as to Paula, Chip, and Peggy from Covenant Care for their compassion and care of Mary.

Celebration of life to be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family simply asks you to remember to dance like no one is watching and tell someone I love you today, or if you are so led, donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, A Night to Shine, your local nursing home memory care unit or your favorite charity can be made in Mary’s name.
