Mary Ellen Lame Simpson
1946-2021
Mary Ellen Lame Simpson, a 74-year-old resident of Pensacola, Florida received her call to Heaven on April 7, 2021 at West Florida Hospice of Cancer. Mary was born on October 17, 1946 in Des Moines, Iowa. She is the daughter of Walter Lame Sr and Nina Lame. Sister of John Lame Sr, Thomas Lame, Walter Lame Jr, and Charles Lame, all of who precede her in death.
Mary met Richard Simpson and they started dating in 1961 in middle school in Des Moines, Iowa. They married March 5, 1965 in Des Moines. She was a loyal military spouse.
Mary’s pride was being a mom to her 4 children Sonja Bauer (Mathew Hively), Douglas Simpson (Barbara Simpson), Shantel Simpson, and Daniel Simpson (Betty Simpson). A proud grandmother to 12 grandchildren Robert Bauer IV (Liana Bauer), Jessica Lengyel-leahu (Anthony Lengyel-leahu), Brandon Bauer (Arielle Bauer), Brett Bauer, Jeremy Abril, Jordan Simpson (Chloe Harmon), Mariah Abril, Derrick Simpson (Keely Simpson), Austin Abril (Stephanie Lang), Alora Simpson, Zachary Simpson, and Dalton Simpson. She has 9 great grandkids, Zayden, Zyla, Nyla, Sterling, Sylas, Whiskey, Jager, Kallie and Karlee.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 11 at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Pensacola, (60 Industrial Blvd) at 6:00 pm with a service to follow at 7:00 pm. A funeral procession will leave Trahan’s at 10:00 am sharp on Monday, April 12 for a graveside service at Barrancas National Cemetery at 11:00 am
