Obituary for Minnie Elizabeth Logan

Minnie Powell Logan
(Auntie Tamia)
Minnie Elizabeth Powell was born on December 4, 1944, in New York City, and was the youngest of four children. She was the baby girl. A fact that she never let her sisters and brothers forget!!! For a while, Minnie owned a restaurant in the Bronx, NY where she showcased her culinary skills. She and her husband Larry Logan left New York in the 90s and moved to Pensacola, FL to be with her aging mother. Her passion was cooking, and she showed her love by cooking for others. Tamia was the “Queen of Cakes” and would bake a cake for any occasion. All that needed to be known for her to bake a cake is that there was a celebration. Tamia, as she was affectionately known, loved colorful clothes and beautiful shoes. After the passing of her husband Larry, the love of her life, Tamia went on to carry forth that same love, by bringing joy and smiles to all those who she came into contact with. Without question, Tamia will be missed and cherished in our hearts and minds forever. So, this is not goodbye, but this is I’ll see you again thy dutiful and faithful servant of God. 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. Minnie is survived by her three sons, Tyrone, Kevin, and Darian, Her sister Rev. Catherine Moore, grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, a multitude of friends, and her beloved dog Rumar.
