Obituary for Ngan Van Tran

Ngan Tran was a devoted and loving child of God, husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He is remembered by his faithful wife, (Tot) of 66 years; eight children, (An Tran (Sang), Sr. Francesca Tuoi Tran, Tien Tran (Cuc), Tham Tran (deceased 2021), Mau Tran (Christopher Cubitt), Thuyen Tran (Tuyen), Huong Tran (Thanh Hoang), Hue Reynolds (Joshua), Thu Clark (Matthew); 24 grandchildren, (Stephen, Christian, Brandon, Minh Kieu, Minh Khuyen, Anh Mai, Trung Kien, An, Tri, Vivien Iha (Justin), Joshua, Karolyn, Jonathan, Theresa, Casey, Caitlyn, Brad, Bryan, Benjamin, Anna, Charlotte, Wyatt, Michael, Madison); and 1 great-grandson, (Emmett Iha).

He migrated from Vietnam in 1975 and his first job was working in a factory with a weekly wage of $50 per week. Subsequently, he moved to Florida to be closer to his family and continue his trade as a fisherman and shrimper. Ultimately, he became captain and owner of three successive shrimp boats in Pensacola. He was a member of Our Lady of Queen of Martyrs for many years and served as chairman of the Parish Council. In the past eighteen years, he suffered much because of his failing health but his faith in God remained steadfast that the Lord would help him bear his illness until his last breath in March. He was a doting father and worked tirelessly hoping and praying that each child and grandchild would succeed in life through higher education as he was not given the same opportunity in his own life. He always had a smile when he was around any of his grandchildren. We will all miss him, and he will remain in our hearts forever until we meet again in eternity. Rest in peace and we love you very much!
