Obituary for Norman Gene Potter

Norman Gene Potter born on April 4, 1931 in Flint, Michigan went to be with the Lord on February 22, 2021. He was a loving, gentle, and supportive husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
Norman left Michigan to enlist in the United States Army during the Korean War and served his country honorably in Korea as a Radio Repairman with an artillery unit. After active-duty time he married and worked out at Pensacola Naval Air Station as an Avionics Instrument Repair Technician and Instructor until his retirement.
Norman was fervent about his belief and faith in God and served his churches in many roles through the years.
He is survived by his wife, Hilda Potter of 13 years; surviving stepchildren include daughter, Margie Graham of Pensacola, son, Rueben Abell of Kansas City, daughter, Betty Joann McArther (Chris) also of Kansas City; and eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by son, Darryl Abell.
Norman was also predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Dorena Mary Potter. He is survived by his children, Maurice Potter (Debra) of Portland, OR and Martin Potter (Charlotte) of Ephrata, WA; three grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home on Industrial Blvd on March 18, 2021 at 1 P.M. A funeral procession will follow at 2:30 P.M. to Barrancas National Cemetery for a short Internment Service.
