Obituary for Oscar Lee Hyden

Oscar “Lee” Hyden
May 16, 1947 – April 26, 2022

Oscar “Lee” Hyden, 74, passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2022. He was born in Prestonsburg, KY to his parents, Alec and Ruby Miller Hyden on May 16, 1947. While growing up, Lee lived in the Hills of KY and traveled with the Circus.

After high school, he joined the Army. He was an Army Warrant Officer for the Airborne Division and retired as a Decorated Vietnam Vet. Lee also had a Master’s Degree of Science in Culinary Arts.

He was a great Man, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, and Friend. Lee will be missed greatly by many.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lloyd; and sister, Bonnie.

Lee leaves behind his wife of 23 years, Lynda Hyden; sons, Steven (Mary), Alex (Courtney), and James Hyden, Derek and Bryan Williams; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, many other relatives, and friends.

His wake will be held on Monday, May 2nd, 2022, at Trahan Family Funeral Home, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. We will meet on Tuesday, May 3rd, 2022, at Trahan Family Funeral Home at 11:30 a.m., and leave in procession for interment at 12:15 p.m. Burial will take place at Barrancas National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
