Obituary for Patricia Woodson

Patty always surrounded herself with her family and friends. Her devotion to God, her husband and her kids gave her the strength she needed to get through some of her toughest days of chemo. If you were to ask her what her greatest accomplishments were in her life, she would simply say her kids, grandkids, great grandkids and the littles she taught at PCN. She poured her heart and soul into teaching littles about God and preparing them for school. She was always willing to lend a hand when needed. Whether it was to volunteer herself for events, willing to be your road trip companion, or just lend an ear, you could count on her.

Patty devoted over 10 years to Ensley Football Park where she not only coached but also maintained numerous board positions. She was no stranger to the sport and voted to be Football Commissioner many years ago. She would do anything within her power to make sure everyone had what they needed and would move mountains to make it happen. She was strong, independent, loving and an amazing person to know. She would be the first one to show up and the last to leave.

She never gave up. She fought until her body couldn’t fight anymore. Knowing that her family surrounded her when God called her home, is knowing that she was at peace and pain free. Until we meet again.
She is proceded in death by her mother, Althea Ann Ladner (McFerrin); father, Major Glen McFerrin; mother in-law, Daisy Faye Luster; father in-law, Joe Woodson; and daughter, Sharlene Woodson.

Patty is survived by her spouse, Danny Joe Woodson of 41 years, daughters, Jessica Simmons (Shane Simmons) and Tasha Puckett (James Puckett); son, Daniel Woodson; grandchildren, Marisa Brown (Jonah Brown), Devon Williams (Hannah Williams), Micheal Williams, Brianna Simmons, Brooke Williams, Courtney Williams, Brittney Williams, Patricia Simmons, Sarah Puckett, Christian Williams, James Puckett Jr., Grace Puckett, and Carly Williams; six great grandchildren; three sisters, Melissa Everett; Amy Gurley (Larry Gurley) and Cathy McFerrin. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
