Obituary for Raymond Long

Raymond Long, 70, of Pensacola went to be with the Lord on March 21, 2022. He was born to Will and Julia Long on August 20, 1951.

Raymond was a graduate of Booker T. Washington, Class of 1970. He went into the Air Force right after graduation. He did 2 tours in Vietnam. When he returned to the States, he worked for the V.A. in Manhattan, New York for 2 years then transferred to the Postal Service in Bronx, New York for 8 years. He then transferred to Pensacola, Florida and worked at the Pensacola Postal Service for 2 years. After he left the Pensacola Postal Service he transferred to the Medford, Oregon Postal Service.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Will and Julia Long; sisters, Geraldine Bailey, Felisha Woodson; brother, Claude Long.

Raymond leaves to cherish his memories, his son, Evan Long; brothers, Willie (Marie) Long, Marvin (Carolyn) Long; sisters, Brenda Long James, Judith (Paul) Long; stepdaughter, Chamaine Graham; a host of nieces and nephews.

A Funeral Service for Raymond will be held on Friday, April 1, 2022 at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola. The public visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. with the service to follow at 9:30 a.m. Immediately following the service we will leave in procession to go to Barrancas National Cemetery for an 11:00 a.m. graveside service.
