Obituary for Reginald Lee Johnson

Reginald Lee Johnson, Sr. was born to the late Charlie and Louise Johnson on August 16, 1952, and graduated from Trinity Garden High School in Mobile, AL.
Reginald enlisted in the United States Army in June 1971, where he served as a Printer/Duplication Machine Operator and Light Weapons Infantryman and was honorably discharged in 1974.
Reginald graduated from Alabama Aviation and Technical College in 1978 with a degree in Aviation Maintenance Technology. Reginald continued to serve his country as a federal government employee at Naval Air Station Pensacola, Florida, where he served as an aircraft mechanic and later served with the Defense Contracts Management Agency (DCMA). At the same time, employed with DCMA as a Quality Assurance Inspector, he deployed numerous times to Afghanistan and Kuwait. He retired from the federal government with over 33 years of federal service in 2015. He was a professional photographer at heart in his spare time and loved traveling with Lillie!
Reginald was ordained as a Minister on November 26, 1989, by the late Elder Eddie L. Smiley Sr. He loved teaching the gospel. Reginald married Lillie Johnson in 1981, and one son Reginald Johnson Jr. was born into this union.
Reginald leaves to cherish his memory: Stepchildren: Robert Terry of Milton, FL; Vonzella Simmons (husband: James Simmons, Sr.) of Woodbridge, VA; Gwendolyn Bell (husband: Tracey Bell Sr.) of Stafford, VA; and August Stevens (husband: Reginald Stevens) of Milton, FL; and a host of grandchildren: Dewayne Riley, Tracey Bell, Jr., Trontayvis “Tron” Koger, Tronvahris “Ron” Koger, Lathisea Simmons, Robyn Terry, Terrence Bell, James Simmons, Jr., Jamel Stevens, and six great-grandchildren. Sisters & brothers: Katherine Culbreath (Deceased), Riverside, California; Charlie Johnson (Shirley Johnson), Columbus, South Carolina; Joan Moore (Husband – Leslie), Mobile, AL; Howard Johnson (Angela Johnson), Mobile, AL; Rodd Leroy Johnson - (Wife – Donna), Jacksonville, FL; Don Albert Johnson - (Deceased), Texas; Jennifer Johnson - Mobile, AL; Brian Johnson – Mobile, AL and a host of nephews and nieces. Three sisters-in-law: Fannie Mae Butler of Milton, FL; Bertha Calvin of Chicago, IL; and Willie Pearl (Deceased), New York.
