Obituary for Robert Allen "Bob" Bush
Robert Allen Bush, 73, passed away on April 24th, 2023. He was referred to as “Bob” by his family and friends and was a resident of Jay, Florida.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge Sidney and Eleanor Bush; brothers, E.S. Bush, Jr., Frank Bush, and David K. Bush; and sisters, Kay Bush Crews, Nora Bush Pechek, and Arlene Godwin.
He is survived by his loving wife Deborah, married for 45 years; and his two sons, Joshua Bush and Justin Bush. He is also survived by his two brothers, Buddy (Dortch) Bush, and Donald “Jabo” Bush; sister-in-law, Donna Bates Bush; cousin, Craig (Theresa) Bush; mother-in-law, Ledonia Wise; sister-in-law, Delaine (Brad) Sirmon; brother-in-law, Jeffrey Wise; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Bob graduated from Jay High School in 1968 and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He was honorably discharged in 1971. Bob made a career in construction as a Bridge and Road Inspector, retiring in 2002. Bob was an avid Florida Gators football fan, NASCAR fan and a proud “cat dad.” When he wasn’t watching football games or NASCAR races, Bob enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
The Visitation with the family will be Saturday, May 6th at 12:30 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Milton, Florida. The Memorial Service will follow immediately at 1:30 p.m. His brother-in-law, Brad Sirmon will be officiating the Memorial Service.
Honorary Pallbearers are Craig Bush, Jimmy Black, Kenny Rowell, David Cork, and Joseph Bush.
The family would like to thank Emerald Coast Hospice and Nurse Jennifer Youngblood, for her compassionate care and love shown to him.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that you donate to the Alzheimer’s Association to help support critical Alzheimer’s disease research or your local animal shelter.
