Obituary for Robert Earl Martin

Robert Earl Martin, beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend returned to his heavenly home on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. His devotion to his family and his firm belief in God supported him and ultimately gave him peace.

Known affectionately as “Bobby”, he was an active member of Coast Community Church. Born in Chicago, Illinois, he spent his childhood there before enlisting in the United States Air Force where he proudly served 16 years and went on to retire as a Staff Sergeant and eventually settled in Pensacola, Florida. He enjoyed listening to and also making music with the various instruments he played. He was also exceptionally gifted in both poetry and art. He spent much of his free time creating beautiful works of art that will continue to be enjoyed by his family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Samuel “Lee” Martin; mother, Ivron Martin and his brother, Tyrone.

He leaves to cherish his memory, sister, Diane; brother, Craig; sons, Anthony, Jason, Kory, Dustin and Brandon. He also held a special place for his grandchildren, Braylon, Mariah, Jaden, Makinzie, Paris and Naomi; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends he regarded as family.

Known by his children from his boisterous snoring and by friends from his infectious smile.

A Memorial Service for Robert will be held on Friday, November 11, 2022. The visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m. with the service to follow at 4:00 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home. Robert will be interred at Barrancas National Cemetery on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at 9:30 a.m.
