Obituary for Shirley Ann Alford
Shirley Ann Alford, 75, of Milton, Florida, passed away February 11, 2023 after a short but courageous battle with breast cancer. Shirley was born March 21, 1947, to Allison Dempsey Gilbert and Kathryn Suwannee (Smith) Gilbert.
She graduated from Milton High School and completed Cosmetology School. She was a beautician for more than 50 years and still worked full-time until she began cancer treatments. She spent her evenings bowling at DeLuna Lanes or running the grandchildren to their after-school activities.
Shirley was preceded in death by her father, Allison Gilbert; mother, Kathryn Smith Gilbert; and brother, Butch Gilbert.
She is survived by her son, Clete Alford (Katie Clark); daughter, Brittney (David) Fanugao; grandchildren, Laney (Brandon), Berkley, and Kingsley Fanugao, and Carl Alford; sister, Barbara Broxson; brothers, Larry (Rhonda) and Johnny Gilbert; and countless client-friends.
Her memorial service will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at 10:00 a.m.
