Obituary for Solomon "Brant" Green

Solomon was born on October 5, 1940, to the late Solomon Green, Jr., and Amie Robinson Green in Bagdad, Florida. He was the oldest of 5 children. He departed this life on Thursday, May 11, 2023.
Solomon accepted Christ as his savior at New Providence Missionary Baptist Church at an early age. He accepted the call to serve and was ordained as a Deacon under the leadership of Dr. Joseph Marshall. He loved gospel music, singing and giving the Lord praise! He was a faithful member of the New Providence Male Chorus and Choir #2.
Solomon was affectionately known as, “Daddy”, “Uncle”, “Brother”, “Tiny”, “Yogi” and “Chief” by his family and close friends. He was educated in Santa Rosa County where he attended T.R. Jackson.
Solomon began his professional journey at the tender young age of 12 years old. He lost his father as a young man and took on the roll as “the man of the house”, while helping support and raise his siblings. He worked at Milton Cleaners, Chemstrand/Monsanto for over 25 years until his retirement in 1995 and then went on to work for Sikorsky at Whiting Field in Milton, Florida until he decided to once again retire. He was a man of little words, slow to speak but when he spoke it was through wisdom for guidance with love and compassion. He loved his family and was a great supporter through good times and bad times.
Solomon was preceded in death by his parents; son, Gary Alfred Green; grandson, Maurice Martin Jr.; brother, Alfred Green Sr.; and sisters, Joanne Sanders and Nellie Hall.
He leaves to forever cherish his memory a loving and devoted family: 1 son, Grant Solomon Green; 4 daughters, Sheila(Wayne)Rushing, Angie Perkins, Amy Green Anderson and Sequita Collier; 11 grandchildren: Marco Green, Kenneth Lee, Tremain Hamilton, Solomon Larkins, Bryanna Perkins, Demarcus Perkins, Brittany(Willie)Flowers, Wayne(Christina)Rushing, Mary(Chris)Hollis, Gary(Stephanie)Rushing and Tracey Rushing; 33 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; 1 sister, Mary L. Smith; 2 brothers-in-law, Jesse Hall and Eddie Sanders; a special friend, Fanny Johnson; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and loving friends that will forever hold his memory with gratitude and love in their hearts.
