Obituary for Teresa Kay Highstreet

Teresa Kay (Hill) Highstreet, 55, passed away on February 29, 2024, in a local hospital in Houma, Louisiana. She was born on August 18, 1968, in Milton, Florida.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents and her mother-in-law.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Kyle Highstreet; her parents, Wayne and Gay Kilpatrick; her bonus son, Ryan (Stephanie) Highstreet; brother, Bill (Pat) Hill; sister, Tammy Kilpatrick (Doyle Godwin); sister-in-law Jana (Robbie) Weeks; brother-in-law, Rusty (Karen) Highstreet; nieces, Megan (Noah) Warren, Paige Hill, Allison Lovino (Corey) Byrd; nephews, Eason (Catherine) Weeks, Bryson Weeks, Adam Lovino; precious granddaughters, Channing & Riley Highstreet; great nieces, Willow and Amiyah Warren. She also leaves behind many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She also leaves behind her three fur babies, that she loved and adored.

Teresa had a big heart and loved even more. She cherished her family and always wanted to be with them, however, over the years she became too sick to travel. She spent as much time as she could fishing, and if she saw a stray animal, she would take it home, or at least try to. She was known for her homemade, delicious chicken and dumplings and was always in charge of making them during the holidays. She also always wanted to get together and play card games with family. Any time together was a good time.

Teresa will be missed greatly. When she was well, she was the life of the party. We will always remember her as fun-loving, goofy, and a giver even when she didn’t have much herself.
