Obituary for Terrence "TK, Terry" Kevin Denny

Terrence Kevin Denny (TK, Terry), 69, of Pensacola FL, died on April 20, 2022, at Solaris Healthcare Pensacola. He was a graduate of Pensacola Catholic High (1970) and longtime office manager at ATI-NAPA.

In an afterlife which reunites loved ones, a father and son are at last together again; two best friends are lighting a smoke and shooting the breeze; three brothers are embracing; a Goddaughter is smiling at her uncle and birthday twin; two fat cats with rhyming names are getting many pets to atone for lost years; and a beloved mother and son are sitting around the family table talking and laughing.

Terry was preceded in death by his son, Patrick Jon Denny; his mother, Monica Mary Robinson Denny; his brothers, Tommy and David Denny; his sister-in-law, Rae Jean Denny, his niece, Marie Valle Broadus and his best friend, Larry Carney. He is survived by his father, James T. Denny Jr.; his sisters, Monica (Merrill) Cutts and Joan (Marion) Valle; his brothers, Michael (Mary Ann), Brian and Jonathan (Robin) Denny.

He is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Rebecca (Robert) Carter, Andrew Cutts, Samuel (Nicole) Cutts, Crystal (Larry) Roy, Alexander Denny, Cassandra (Thomas) Kearns, Eileen (Dan) Stender, Carolyn (John) Ellithorp, Adam (Rebekah) Valle, Katharina (David) Smith, Christopher Denny, James (Dee) Denny, Jennifer (Joe) Davis, Travis (Marci) Stanley, Samantha Delgado, Jon Lee (Lucien) Denny, Jackie Barr, Lyndsey Spink, and numerous grand nieces and nephews and cousins.

The family knew him as Terry and over the years, to his friends and colleagues he became TK.
By any name, he was a devoted, hardworking, and full of life individual with a keen mind. He never sought the limelight and was content to be himself and lend a helping hand whenever he could. Terry always had a welcome mat out for family, friends and pets. We joked that, if someone turned in a stray dog or cat at our family vet’s office, the vet would drop it in front of Terry’s house because he knew Terry would claim it as his own and provide for its ongoing care.

Terry’s greatest pride and achievement in life came from family, lifelong friends, and the members of his church. He was dedicated to his job and had a strong bond with his coworkers at ATI-NAPA. This strong bond saved TK’s life after he had his stroke in July 2020. His workers knew it was out-of-character for TK not to be at work on time so when he didn’t show and didn’t answer his phone, someone from his office headed to his house to see if he was okay and found him passed out on the kitchen floor. We are forever grateful for his work friends.

For a long-time after Pat’s death, Terry searched to find meaning in this world. He knew church was the answer and visited many before he discovered the Seventh Day Adventist Church on Blue Angel Parkway where he found friends, fellowship, and a sense of purpose. He was actively involved and dearly loved. One of his many ministries was to visit nursing homes weekly to share his love of God.

Terry struggled greatly with his paralysis and inability to speak easily after his stroke. When he received the diagnosis of lung cancer in early March, he was relieved and at peace. He was ready to meet his Maker. Terry wished to be cremated with no viewing. He also asked for no flowers or donations. If you wish to honor him, visit a nursing home and pray with a resident.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate and share memories of Terry’s life on Friday, May 6, 2022, at 10:00 at Blue Angel Parkway Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 1080 N Blue Angel Parkway, Pensacola FL 32506.
