Obituary for Zebbie D Hamilton Jr.
On May 29, 1951, in Santa Rosa County, Milton, Florida, Zebedee Hamilton, Sr. and Mary Black Hamilton gave birth to a precious baby boy they named “Zebedee Hamilton, Jr”, affectionately known as “Zeb” or “Pop”.
On January 16, 2023, our precious Pop left us suddenly to be with the Lord.
The angels in Heaven are rejoicing along with his parents, Zebedee & Mary Black Hamilton; his brother, Rev. Murray Hamilton, Sr.; and his son, Rodriguez “Sonny” Smith, who preceded him in death.
Pop accepted Christ in his life at an early age and was a member of Margaret Street Church of Christ. Pop was raised in Bagdad, Florida where he attended Santa Rosa County Schools. In his early years, he joined the Job Corps. He was employed at Cyanamid for over 20 years and worked as a baler operator. Pop ended his career at Costello where he worked for over 10 years as a truck driver. Pop loved being on the scene as well as being seen. He believed in looking good and dressing sharp. He truly loved his family and was loved by all.
Pop leaves to cherish his precious memories his loving sons: Ronnie Slack (Marie) of Alexandria, VA, Zebedee “ZD” Robinson, Jeffery Pinkney, Tremaine Hamilton all of Milton, FL and Zachary Allen of Crestview, FL; daughters, Tycee Robinson of Milton, FL, Lasheika Hamilton and Lakinja Hamilton both of Pensacola, FL; brothers, Donald Hamilton (Jackie) of Theodore, AL, Warren Hamilton, Sr. (Runnette) of Jonesboro, GA, and Eddie Shoemoe of Pensacola, FL; three sisters, Mary Ann (Donald) McGriff of Milton, FL, Barbara (Andrew) Green of Allen, TX and Denise Shields (Ronald) of Pensacola, FL; sister-in-law, Emily Hamilton; uncle, Robert (Hattie) Hamilton; aunts, Bertha Cobb of Milton, FL, Betty Ann Cuthbertson, of St. Marys, GA and JoAnn (Richard) Clayton of Las Vegas, NV; special cousin and friend, Tommy Lee Johnson “Monk”; special caregivers, Jennifer Kemp and Patrick Johnson; and a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and special friends.
