Grace Ward Edwards
1945 – 2016

Grace Ward Edwards, 71, a long-time resident of Pensacola, passed away unexpectedly on August 2, 2016. She was one of 4 children born to Ruth and Tyrus Ward in Boston, Massachusetts on January 4, 1945.

She was a graduate of Escambia High School, Class of ’62. After graduation, years were filled with traveling with United Airlines, love and marriage, becoming a mom to Caroline, and eventually settling into retirement after 25 years as a county clerk for Escambia County. She loved spending time with the family and getting involved with the grandkids sports, not leaving out cheering on the Boston Red Sox.

Grace is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Ward.

She is survived by one daughter, Caroline (Jon) VanZandt; 2 grandchildren, Nike & Jack; a sister, Louise (Tex) Sinon; brother, Albert (Sherri) Ward; 5 nieces and nephews; 1 great-niece; and 2 special cousins, Judy Dashawetz and Lucia Dolan; and former husband and friend, Michael Edwards.

On Wednesday, August 10, 2016, a visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until the memorial service begins at 6:00 p.m. at Trahan Family Funeral Home of Pensacola, who is in charge of arrangements.
