Anna Lois Roberts Friedman, 81, died in West Florida Hospital after a life-long battle with Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis on September 28, 2017. Born December 30, 1935, in Crestview, FL, her family has resided in the Florida panhandle since the early 1800s. In 1939, they moved to Pace where Lois attended Pace Elementary and Milton High School. After marriage she moved to Dallas, TX, where she worked as a bookkeeper for H.L. Hunt Oil Company. She also resided in New York City and Boston. She eventually moved to a farm in Sentinel, OK, where she raised her two children. In the 1970s, Lois returned to Pace and opened her own business, a Ceramic Shop, on Chumuckla Highway.
She is survived by her son, Jim Bowie (Swati); granddaughter Leila Bowie; daughter Dr. Stephanie Friedman (David Hines); brothers, Ralph Roberts and Glen Roberts. She is preceded in death by her father, James Monroe Roberts; mother, Essie Lee McVickers Roberts; brothers, Hoyt Roberts and Freddie Roberts.
Services will be held on Tuesday, October 3, 2 PM, at Trahan Family Funeral Home on Stewart Street in Milton, FL. Lois will be laid to rest in Serenity Gardens.
