William Earl "Bill"  Bass
William Earl “Bill” Bass, age 58, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 20, 2017. He was born on July 3, 1959 in Anchorage, Alaska, where his father was stationed with the Air Force. Bill and his parents, Vivian V. Bass and William Henry “Bill” Bass returned to Northwest Florida in 1960 where Bill resided for the remainder of his life.
He attended Ferry Pass Schools and was a graduate of J. M. Tate High School where he was on the football team. Bill was very active in Boy Scouts and attained the rank of Eagle Scout. He worked many years in the masonry construction industry where he was well-respected for his skills and strong work ethic.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Vivian V. Bass; his paternal grandparents, Bessie and Hazel Bass; and a special friend, Pamela Turner.
Bill is survived by his father, William H. “Bill” Bass and his wife, Zelma; son, Mason Hunter Bass; daughter, Latisha Bass; brother, Randall Evan Bass and his wife, Linda; a very special aunt and uncle, Betty and William “Bill” McCurdy; two cousins, Troy McCurdy and Terri English; niece, Brandy McCauley; and nephew, Christopher Randall Bass.
Bill has two grandchildren, Tristan Damian Smith and Kaden Bass Hunter who have resided with him since early childhood.
A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at Trahan Family Funeral Home in Pensacola, FL on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Phillip Graham officiating. The family will be receiving friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. A private burial will be held at a later date.
