Obituary for Sam Pittman Jr.

Sam Pittman Jr.
Sam Pittman, Jr., 77, passed away on March 20, 2018. He was born on June 7, 1940.

Jr. was an avid dog hunter. His love for fox hunting was only equal with his love for his family and the Lord. He was a member of many clubs involved with dog hunting. He enjoyed deer hunting, showing dogs, fishing, and listening to a good dog race. One of his passions was making sure the next generation had the love for hunting and showing dogs to carry the torch. His two granddaughters, Tink and Chy, have made him proud, carrying that torch in his later years.

He was preceded in death by: the love of his life, Lillie Faye Pittman; father, Sam Pittman, Sr.; mother, Nettie Lee Pittman; brother, Alford Lee Pittman; and sisters, Alpin Parker, Elvie Danley, June Martin, and Nettie Mae LaBeef.

Survivors include: stepdaughter, Yvonne Lockstead; stepson, Mike Clark; his granddaughter, Tinker Pittman; grandsons, Chris Pittman and Michael Rutherford; great grandchildren, Cheyenne Pittman, McKenzie Pittman, Jordan Pittman, M.J. Rutherford, Kinley Rutherford, and Collins Rutherford; numerous nieces and nephews.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 24, 2018 at Faith Chapel Assembly of God Church.

The family would like to say a special thank you to his friends, the staff at Santa Rosa Hospital who made him and us as comfortable as possible in his worst moments, and the staff and customers at Local Yokel/Circle K for keeping him company all through the week. We would also like to say a very special thank you to Drew Dillinger for being his friend and his legs for the past few months. Your love and caring for him did not go unnoticed.
