Gordon Thomas Irving, 67, of Chumuckla, FL went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 3, 2018. He was born in Fort Bragg, NC to his loving parents, Gordon and Frances Irving on January 25, 1951.
He had spent lots of time with Grandma and Grandpa West. After getting his GED in Vietnam in 1969, Gordon joined the United States Army at the age of 17. In his military career, he did one tour in Vietnam at the age of 18, he was in the 173rd Airborne in Vietnam, and 82nd Airborne in Ft. Bragg, NC. He was also, a commercial snapper boat owner, oysterman, an over the road trucker for ten years, and in his free time, an awesome deer hunter.
Gordon now walks alongside the Lord with his father, Gordon Lloyd Irving; mother, Frances Lee Irving; his twin brother, Ronald Ray Irving; and two sisters, Vickie Richards and Frances Coggins.
He leaves to cherish his memories his loving wife of 44 years, Theresa Irving; nieces, Debra Bolton of Fayetteville, NC., Catherine Cox of Achorage, AK., Franecs Bingham of Crestview, FL., Georgeanna Jauriqui of Pennsylvania; sisters-in-law, Connie Hester, Laverne Lolly; and extended family and dear friends.
Gordon loved his many nieces and nephews, Uncle Tom loved you Brylan Boone, his best buddy. And Gordon was so happy that Catherine Cox could come down from Alaska to spend some special time with him.
A service will be held in honor of Gordons life on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 11:30 a.m. at Barrancas National Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
