Obituary for Jimmy Ray Cotton

Jimmy Ray  Cotton
Jimmy Ray Cotton, of Allentown entered heaven, June 12, 2016. He was born April 24, 1938 in Samson, AL to Archie L. and Gladys Louise (Lee) Cotton.

Before moving to Allentown, Jim and Carloyn lived for over 25 years in Gulf Breeze. He owned and operated Family Homes Realty and was also an electrician and builder. He remained a member of the Gulf Breeze Lodge 347 for over 50 years, the Scottish Rite and the Hadji Shrine for many years. He loved children and sponsored the “Family Homes Realty” teams and coached girl’s softball at the GBSA.

He was preceded in death by: his parents; one great grandchild, Ashlyn Roberson; and his beloved uncle, Eugene.

Survivors include: his beloved wife, Nancy Carolyn (Gardner) Cotton; children, Deanna (Billy) Roberson of Allentown, Mark (Cindy) Cotton and Christy Cotton both of Pace; grandchildren: Christy (Cory) Baker, Ray (Amanda) Roberson, Leslie (John) Brandt, Casey Cotton Amorelli, and Jennifer Cotton, and seven great-grandchildren: Aidan Roberson, Carleigh Baker, Makenzi Roberson, Ava Amorelli, Gavin Brandt, Heaven Brandt and Annabelle Brandt; brother, Earl Martin of Allentown; sisters, Joanne (Johnny) Gunn of Allentown and Diane Leary (Rusty) of York, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Trahan Family Funeral Home of Milton, 6539 Trammel Dr. (adjacent to Serenity Gardens Cemetery), is in charge of arrangements.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the funeral home.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016 also at the funeral home.

Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Ray Roberson, Paul Saba, John Brandt, Shane Tingstrom, Jimmy Ward, Cory Baker, Brandon Lewis and Keith Jones.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to: NEW LIFE BAPTIST CHURCH “PAVING FUND” at 6380 Bayberry St Milton, Florida 32570.
